He Has No Power Over Me

From 90 Devotions to Encourage Your Heart:

He has no power over Me.

John 14:30

When God is about to do a profound work of transformation, Satan begins to panic. In the hours before Jesus’ crucifixion, it got very ugly. His disciples all deserted Him. He was mistreated, lied to, and subjected to the physical and verbal abuse of many around Him–the many around Him He came to save. This never deterred Him from His mission for a moment. Love ruled the world that night, despite the apparent darkness of the circumstances. Jesus knew the truth–Satan had no power over Him. The Father-Son-Holy Spirit’s plans for all humanity were going to prevail, and Satan could do nothing to stop it.

It’s always darkest before the dawn. Satan’s tactics are the ugliest, darkest, and most dreadful right before he’s about to lose. And lose he will. God’s plans will prevail no matter what. We too can rejoice, even in the darkest hours, raise our hands in the air, and proclaim this truth–He has no power over me.
