Dear Friends, the following is an excerpt from my new Bible study called “From Temporary to Eternity: A Journey Through 1 & 2 Peter.” It will be available on September 11, 2016.

From Temporary to Eternity Front Cover

All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord endures forever.

-1 Peter 1:24-25

What will last forever? We tend to think and live like everything will. But this Scripture portion tells us otherwise. Would we behave differently if we knew what will endure forever and what will not? Would we change the way we use our time if we knew we were investing in eternal things instead of temporary things?

Where are you spending your time, talents, and resources? Are there areas you need to adjust in order to join God in His work in and around you? Maybe you need to be on your knees (or on your face) in prayer before the Lord regarding this. Remember God will always look favorably upon one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at His word. And He loves and has chosen you, Dear Friend.

About the Study:

Journey verse by verse through 1 & 2 Peter as you discover how God strengthens and encourages believers that our situations are temporary in light of eternity. This study goes through the epistles of 1 & 2 Peter using the Observation, Interpretation, and Application method of Bible study. See for yourself what the Bible says about the sufferings of this present time in comparison to the glory God has in store for believers. Filled with Scripture cross-references and an “End Times Chart” to help you understand what Peter writes in his epistles, this study has the participant go through twenty-eight lessons complete with a journal section at the end of the lesson and a “Going Deeper” section to explore the lesson’s themes in even more depth.

Use this study in a small group setting or for individual study/quiet time. Walk away with a deeper sense of your temporary situation in light of God’s plan for you for eternity.
