Because God loves you so much…

For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!

-2 Corinthians 5:21 TLB

The cross was the biggest expression of love the world has ever seen. God, in perfection, through Jesus Christ, came and submitted himself to death so that he could pay the price for our lives. See, Satan had every right to us. For the wages of sin is death…(Romans 3:23). Born into sin, Satan has authority under the law to claim us because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 6:23). We were helpless. Satan had the claim, in perfect legality.

But Jesus knew the law too, and he knew that if someone paid the penalty for the sin, then freedom was bought. So he put on flesh and made his dwelling among us. He never sinned, so he was the Only One who could pay the penalty since he didn’t have to pay the penalty for any sins of his own. The judge was the Father. Satan was the accuser, and Jesus was the advocate. But the advocate didn’t plead the case (for Jesus knew the verdict was “guilty”), instead, he became the penalty. He told the judge He would take the penalty himself. Then we could walk free and be counted righteous.

It’s a crazy, amazing act of love only God could do. And it’s a free offer, if only we would believe on him who offers it. It’s not automatic, but it must be an intentional choice to receive the gift of freedom by believing in what Jesus did at the cross.

Do you believe you are a sinner separated from God?

Do you believe Jesus died for your sins?

Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead to give you a new life?

Will you turn the control of your life over to Jesus?

You can pray this in your own heart:

Dear God, I believe I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from you. I believe Jesus paid the debt for my sin at the cross. I believe He rose from the dead. I want to turn away from my sinful life and turn to You. Please save me, Lord. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

It is my hope you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, because God loves you so much.
