How Quickly God Can Turn It All Around

July 22, 2014 | Tags: ,

If you carefully obey my commands I am giving you today, to love the Lord your God and worship Him with all your heart and all your soul, I will provide rain for your land in the proper time, the autumn and spring rains, and you will harvest your grain, new wine, and oil. I will provide grass in your fields for your livestock. You will eat and be satisfied.

-Deuteronomy 11:13-15

No matter what situation you find yourself in today, always remember God is on the throne. The world and your circumstances are not falling apart–they are instead falling to the feet of the sovereign Lord and King, Jesus Christ. He is always in control, and never forget how quickly He is able to turn all things around in His timing and for His glory. In this season, keep obeying His commands and keep your heart focused on His love for you. His arms are filled with enough grace to handle the world today and your circumstances.

This is a tough season–waiting, trusting, and praying, in faith, hoping against all hope that He will do what He promised. And He will. It will come, but it will come in a way that you won’t expect. And when it does, you will know it was only the Lord who could have done it. That’s the way He works, time and time again. He wants to make sure we all know that He alone is Yahweh.

Keep praying, keep seeking Him, and keep praising Him for His goodness, mercy, and grace. Right before Jesus went to the cross, He sung this exact hymn with His disciples. He was singing before going to the cross to die. He knew the cross was not the end, but only the beginning. And His great reward was on the other side of the cross–you and me, back, secure, with Him again. He had much to praise the Father for before the end became the beginning. We do too. Let’s sing with Jesus the same song below:

Open the gates of righteousness for me;
I will enter through them
and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord;
the righteous will enter through it.
I will give thanks to You
because You have answered me
and have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
This came from the Lord;
it is wonderful in our eyes.
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Lord, save us!
Lord, please grant us success!
He who comes in the name
of the Lord is blessed.
From the house of the Lord we bless you.
The Lord is God and has given us light.
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords
to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will give You thanks.
You are my God; I will exalt You.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His faithful love endures forever.

-Psalm 118:19-29
