See Yourself As God Sees You–Radiant and Wonderful

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head.

-Revelation 12:1

In the apostle John’s vision in the book of Revelation, God shows him a great symbolic display–a glorious woman, clothed with the sun, the moon at her feet, and a crown of 12 stars on her head. Who is this woman? She is a symbol of the beauty and radiance of God’s people. In this vision, John is given the opportunity to see God’s people as God sees us–radiant and wonderful.

Do you see yourself this way? If you are a child of God, having received the Holy Spirit and forgiveness of all your sins by the cross of Christ, then this is how God sees you. He no longer sees your sin–He sees the radiance of His Son in you. No matter what your past or what mistakes you will make in the future, God’s perspective of you never changes. He sees you as resplendent and stunning.

Satan works overtime to get you to believe otherwise. He knows that you will act based on what you believe about yourself. If he can get you to believe that God still holds your sins and mistakes against you, despite your salvation and acceptance of God’s gift, he knows you will never fully live out your position in Christ. We must be intentional everyday about receiving God’s great love for us so that it will fill us and empower us overcome the attacks of Satan. We must believe we truly are this radiant woman. We will then act upon that with hearts filled with faith, hope, and power in the Holy Spirit to walk with God as salt and light in the world.

Take some time today to be still before God and receive His great love for you. His love never changes and is not based on works. It is based upon the cross of Christ and Jesus doing the work for us that we could never do ourselves. It is based upon grace and mercy, compassion and forgiveness. It’s based upon a God who reached down from heaven to save mankind from sin and deception that we could never undo on our own. It’s based upon a God who loves unconditionally, because He is Love. Receive that love today.
