Complete Trust in God

Your strength will lie in quiet confidence.

-Isaiah 30:15

Take some time to meditate on God’s Word to us in Isaiah 30:15–“Your strength will lie in quiet confidence.” When we go through long seasons of spiritual battles, we get tired inevitably. It’s hard to keep fighting the good fight of faith. But God promises to give us new strength each and every day. His Word tells us, “He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless” (Isa. 40:29). Our God will carry us in times of intense spiritual battles. He Himself will never grow tired or weary. We can rest in His ability and His power to do what we cannot do. Our strength lies in Him–in trusting and believing He can do all things, even in the most impossible of circumstances.

Chris Tiegreen, the devotional author of Indeed, writes, “[God] takes great pleasure in bursting into an impossible situation with an answer no one had heard of.” Case in point: Luke 7:11-15. Jesus enters the town of Nain where He sees a dead man in an open coffin being carried out by pallbearers. The dead man’s mother, a widow, had just lost her only son, and Jesus felt deep compassion for her. He told her not to cry. Then, out of no where, He said, “Young man, I tell you, get up!” The dead man sat up, began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Impossible situation. But Jesus is the Master of making the impossible, possible.

We serve a God who can do anything, even raise the dead to life. Now tell me, if our God can raise the dead, can He not work in your impossible situation today? We can rest and have strength in the quiet confidence of knowing He can do all things. We will gain new strength in trusting Him. We may not know how or when, but we don’t have to. We just have to know the God who does. This pleases Jesus greatly. He loves when we place complete trust and faith in Him, knowing He’s the Only One who can do it. Will you do that today with your impossible situation?
