Here With Me by MercyMe

Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

-Isaiah 41:10

The truth is–life is hard. There is so much that comes against us as believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our faith is challenged almost every day. And yes, we grow weary. The struggle can be overwhelming. We get tired of it. We wonder when the relief will come. While it will not come fully until we are home in heaven, God promises to give us strength here. He tells us not to fear, for He will be with us through the struggles. Sometimes, He walks beside us or behind us. But let’s face it–sometimes, we literally need Him to pick us up and carry us. I’ve said to the Lord many times, “Lord, I cannot do it. You’re going to have to pick me up and carry me if it’s going to get done.”

The world will find that kind of response to difficulty as weakness. “Why can’t you just muster up the strength and do it yourself?” they say. They don’t understand spiritual battles. They have no idea what lies in the spiritual world and what kind of spiritual attacks believers face. They mock us and call us weak and foolish. But God knows. Jesus Christ walked here on earth and experienced exactly what it feels like to be human and to face attacks from the spiritual world. And He teaches us how to fight spiritual battles–not with the weapons of this world, but with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and the left. We fight the attacks by quoting Scripture and by standing on the Rock of Truth. We fight by surrendering our will to the will of the Lord. We allow Him to do the fighting for us. After all, He’s already won the victory. We just need to walk in what He’s already done.

Are you weary today? You are not alone. Let go and let the Lord carry you. Every promise of Isaiah 41:10 holds true for you as a child of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every single one. He will give you strength to keep going. He will help you. He will hold your hand through all of it. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Your Savior is with you. He has won the battle already–walk in it with your hands held high in praise and adoration for the Only Living God.
