He’s Seen Everything Already (Weekend Devotional)

I declare the end from the beginning,
and from long ago what is not yet done,
saying: My plan will take place,
and I will do all My will.

-Isaiah 46:10

You realize that when you are asking God, you are asking the One who has seen the beginning and the end? While we are immersed and hemmed in by the set times God has created for the earth, He exists outside time and sees all events for all time, all at once. He has seen your life and mine from our first breath to our last. He has seen us glorified in heaven as believers in Christ. That is why Paul could write, “And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified” (Rom. 8:30). All these stages of our spiritual life with God have an “-ed” ending because God has already seen all of them, which means they are certainly going to happen from our perspective.

When we seek God’s direction, we are seeking the One who already knows where we are going. He has seen everything already. With that in mind, how could we be foolish enough not to ask God to lead us? He knows the perfect way. He is the Way.

Today, begin your day by letting go of your way. Place it at the feet of Jesus and ask–Lord, what is Your way today? Lead me, Lord, one moment at a time. He is faithful to do so, every single day. Then let go and trust Him. Trust that when you surrender each day to Him, He will lead you perfectly, even if you don’t understand His leading. Trust that one day, you will.
