But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?

Luke 18:8 NLT

We face trials every day which test our faith in God. Some trials are big and last many seasons, others are small and last a day or only moments. First Peter 1:6 says, “…though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials.” That word for various in the Greek is poikilos. It means “various in character” or “motley.” Our trials come in different shapes and forms. They come to test our faith. And they change all the time so that our faith is constantly being refined over and over again.

Our walk with God is about a walk of faith through these trials. We may not understand why. Why must the thing I’m praying for continue to go unanswered? Why must I continue in this season? When will it be over? The answers to these questions always go back to our faith. Through every moment of the trial, endurance is needed. And God is faithful to carry us through whatever we face ahead.

The enemy isn’t after your marriage. He’s not after your job. He’s not after your children. He wants to steal your faith. If he can get you to believe God is somehow not who He says He is, that He cannot do what He says He can do, that His Word is not trustworthy or true, then he’s being successful in his endeavors. Will you and I remain strong in the face of trials? Will we continue to trust God and keep praying? Will we endure to the end? Will we believe all God’s promises in the Bible?

Jesus said two words to me this morning, words I needed to hear–Have faith.
