The Good News

For Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Romans 8:34 NLT

The most powerful message of truth that transforms lives is the Good News of Jesus Christ. No other religion or worldview carries the grace and outreach of God the way the message of Jesus Christ does. He left all the comforts of heaven to live a sinless life, taking on human flesh and blood, to walk among His creation and demonstrate His power over sin and death. All of us were born into sin after Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit they were told not to eat in the garden of Eden. Since then, each person who ever lived is separated from God by sin. God is perfect and cannot be in the presence of sin. Mankind could never, by good works, make up for the depth of their sin. The only way back was for God to reach down to us and pardon our sins by allowing another to take them for us.

Jesus was fully God and fully man. He went to the cross and died for all the sins of all mankind and took our place in judgment for sin. By rising from the dead, He went before us to show  that we would too, in Him, live forever. It is by faith we receive the Good News and accept Jesus’ death on the cross for all our sins and believe in His resurrection from the dead. At that moment, we are born-again spiritually, and the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us, changing us from the inside out, so that as we move and live and breathe, our lives resemble Jesus Christ and our old sin natures slowly fade away. When we die, we immediately are in the presence of God in heaven.

I invite each of you to consider the Good News today. If you have yet made a personal decision to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, to admit your sin can never be made up by doing good works, and to believe that Christ died to take your sins and that He rose from the dead to show He conquered death, I invite you today. Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the World. And by His grace and love for you, He made a way for you to get right with God. Will you consider that Way today?
