The Supreme Importance of Faith in God

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.

Luke 1:45 ESV

“Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22).

“Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6)

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased” (Luke 2:14 ESV).

Faith is of supreme importance to God. Faith pleases God and gives us peace. Unbelief displeases God and gives us turmoil in our hearts and lives. Our journey here is about faith. And God cares more about our faith than He does about our comfort. He wants genuine, tested, and tried faith in Him and Him alone.

We struggle greatly in this area. “But he gives more grace” (James 4:6 ESV). We can pray daily for God to increase our faith and to help us in our unbelief. As we seek Him, we should ask for open hearts to a greater understanding of who He is.

God asks us to step out in faith first, then later we receive sight and understanding in the situation. Do you trust Me? This question comes up multiple times a day in our walk with God.

Make every day a journey of faith and trust in God. He promises peace and favor to those who live like this. Believe God. He is who He says He is, and He does what He says He will do. Trust Him today.
