Strengthened in Our Faith

He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, because he was fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Therefore, it was credited to him for righteousness.

Romans 4:20-22

God makes promises to His children and He is faithful to always keep them. Sometimes we can look at circumstances around us and think, “How can God possibly fulfill this promise?” What has stood out to me recently in my Bible reading is how quickly God can turn a circumstance around. For instance, during the time of Moses and the ten plagues of Egypt, God commanded the circumstances then quickly removed them. For one of the plagues, He sent an east wind to bring in locusts, then when the time came, The Lord changed the wind to a strong west wind, and it carried off the locusts and blew them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust was left in all the territory of Egypt (Exodus 10:19).

We can be strengthened in our faith to believe God’s promises will come to their fulfillment by looking at how God has performed in the past. Once the time had come, God acted. Each and every time. Events seemed to be heading in a certain direction, then God intervened. And everything changed.

Continue to walk by faith and not by sight while you are waiting for God to act. What seems like an impossible situation will come to fruition the moment God acts. Even if we don’t know how He will do it, we can be sure He will. Have faith in God.
