It Was Worth It

Though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith—more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:6-7

Our walk with God is about trust. And who is the object of that trust? Jesus Christ. Is He truly all He says He is? If we believe He is, we can place all our trust in Him. And God honors those who have faith in Him.

Every day, we face this question from God–Do you trust Me? The more we know Him and experience His work in our lives–the consistency of His character–the more our faith in Him grows.

Peter knew what it was like to struggle in various trials. He also knew the struggles would be short compared to the eternal rewards that come from a life of faith that walks steady with Jesus. There will come a day where our trials will be over. We will see Jesus face-to-face. And in that moment we will truly see what we always hoped through the trials. And we will say with shouts of joy–It was worth it!
