Focus on God’s Perfect Love

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV1984

During times of confusion, or even misunderstanding the timing of God’s promises, the best thing we can do is to look up and focus on God’s perfect love. Everything He ever does for you and me is out of His perfect love and knowledge of all things. We don’t ever have to worry that God made a mistake. We don’t ever have to worry about Him wavering on His love for us. His love is always perfect.

When you feel a discrepancy has occurred, continue to seek God and focus on the truth of His Word. It’s important for us to realize God doesn’t ever owe us an explanation for doing what He has sovereignly chosen to do. He expects us to trust Him and surrender to His way. We may express our feelings to God for a little time. But don’t stay there too long. In the end, the important thing is that we walk by faith and not by sight, surrendering to God’s will for our lives. When we do that, when we choose to move forward with what circumstances He has brought about, trusting in His love and ways, we will experience peace and joy. That is God’s promise to us.
