Are You Feeling Empty Today?

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Do you feel that you have nothing left to give today? Then go to the One who is the Refresher of Your Soul–Jesus Christ. He knows this world will drain us of our strength. He walked here and experienced it too. So what did Jesus do to keep going? He spent time with His Father in prayer in order to be filled. Now if Jesus did that and He is God, how much more do we need to?

An hour in quiet with the Lord can do more for your weary soul than anything else in this world. Hit the pause button sometime today, even though it may be a hectic day, and get away with Jesus. Tell Him you are tired and weak. Ask Him to help you be filled with His strength to carry on.

In John 4, the Samaritan woman had to draw water from a well outside the city in order to be hydrated physically. She thought her physical needs were what mattered. But Jesus knew what would truly sustain her for all eternity–the gift of Himself. Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water” (John 4:10).

Go to the Source of Living Water today and be refreshed and filled. Jesus’ filling of us where we are empty is one of the most practical parts of our relationship with Him. Don’t forsake the Fountain of Living Water for broken wells that cannot hold water. Go to the Source. He is all you need.

They will not hunger or thirst,
the scorching heat or sun will not strike them;
for their compassionate One will guide them,
and lead them to springs of water.
-Isaiah 49:10
