Spend Time Seeking God

Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.

Psalm 90:12

Is it October already? How did we get here so fast? The year 2012 is now in its finishing quarter. So hard to believe.

I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more life seems to fly by at a lightening-fast pace. I have to take a moment and think about what season I’m in sometimes. Wasn’t it just summer? No, that’s been long-gone for a month now (since school started). After all, I just put an apple pie in the oven for baking, made from the same apples we picked fresh from an orchard not far from our house. Yes ma’am, fall is definitely here.

If we are not careful, we’ll allow the days to pass and pass without thinking about the most important questions of life: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going when this life is over? As we continue to seek God through a personal relationship with His Son Jesus, we continue to gain a heart of wisdom for answers to these questions.

God truly has given us sufficient knowledge through His Word to satisfy our most important questions of life. God promises that if we keep asking, it will be given; if we keep searching, then we will will find; if we keep knocking, then the door will be opened (Matt. 7:7). The asking, searching, and knocking are the practical actions in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek Him and His answers through prayer and He speaks to us through His Word and through the Holy Spirit.

Don’t let another day pass by without spending time seeking Your Savior. It is by far the best time you’ll ever spend.
