It’s Not about Me

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2:5

I know I want to make it about me. But it’s not about me. It’s about Jesus. I know I get caught up on things happening on my time and on my schedule. But again, it’s not about me. It’s about Jesus and His timing and His schedule. I could become disillusioned and frustrated with this. I could cry and pout and become angry. Or I could surrender to His way and His will. I could let go of what I want and trust what Jesus wants is far better. I could remember that He is the Lord of my life and I am not in charge. I could remember that He is the Perfect Lord, and while the enemy tries to tell me otherwise, everything Jesus does is out of His perfect love for me.

I have Philippians 2:5-8 written on a note card on my desk. I would do well to read it several times a day and remember the cost that Christ paid to redeem me. Focusing my life on Him, and not on me, will set me free every single time I try to make my circumstances all about me. Jesus loves me. And He loves you too. The enemy tries to make it all about us. But when we instead turn that around and make it all about Jesus, we are set free. We are set free to cast our cares to Him, who cares more deeply about us than we will ever understand. Let’s do this together today. Let’s make it all about Jesus. Then let’s see what a blessing it is to live today for Him.
