God Fights for Us

You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 20:17

I have been struggling in two battles lately that, in all honesty, have been stealing my joy in Christ. I have felt anxious and unhappy. They seem so big. They seem so complicated. How will they ever get worked out?

While on my knees in prayer, God reminded me He is in control. I opened my Bible to 2 Chronicles 20 and verse 17 leaped off the page. God said, You do not have to fight this battle. It is not yours to fight. It is Mine. Suddenly, the burden and anxiety began to leave me and a sense of peace began to take over. My joy began to return and I was given the patience to see how God is going to work it out for me.

It may take months to see how God works it out. It may take a day. I am not sure how He will do it. But I don’t have to know how. I just have to the know the One who does. God doesn’t expect us to know His ways. He just expects us to know Him. That is all He ever asks. That we know Him. That we trust Him. That we put our faith in Him. God alone can accomplish what we could never do on our own.

Is there a battle you are fighting that God wants you to hand over to Him? He is mighty and strong to fight it. Let Him fight while you stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

To understand more how this played out in the life of King Jehoshaphat of Judah, read 2 Chronicles 20:1-30. It will bless you to see the amazing way God saved Judah and Jerusalem that day.
